Home Gym Equipment - The Only Three Things You Need to Buy

It seems to me everyday some new type of exercise machine is coming out and claiming to do a million things. Some of these exercise machines seem reasonable while others are a blatant waste of money. If your considering getting into shape from home all you need is three pieces of equipment.

The first two pieces of equipment you will need is a barbell and a few plates. Places like sports authority sell barbells and plates in a combo deal for a low price or you could check your local Craigslist listings. Once you have a barbell the amount of workouts you can at home are endless. To name a few examples you can do a barbell curl, military press, squat and so much more. With those three exercises alone your almost getting a full body workout.

The third and final piece of equipment you would need to buy is a workout bench. A simple workout bench is very cost friendly and opens up a whole new set of exercises you can do at home. When you used in conjunction with the barbell and plates you can easily work every single part of your body effectively with just these three pieces of equipment. If you are willing to spend a little more money you could purchase a workout bench that has an adjustable back rest. If you have a bench with an adjustable back rest that means you can do even more with your workout bench. For example with an adjustable workout bench you can do exercises like the incline bench press or the decline bench press. Once you purchase these three pieces of equipment you will get a gym quality workout at home while never having to pay expensive gym costs again.

Body Champ Deluxe Gravity Inversion Table

Body Champ Deluxe Gravity Inversion Table Review

Body Champ Deluxe Gravity Inversion Table Feature

  • Allows you to easily find the right position for you
  • Supports up to 250-pounds
  • Unique separate adjustable headrest allows for a comfortable feel
  • An extra-long and spring-loaded pull-pin
  • A safety strap allows you to control the desired inverting angles

Body Champ Deluxe Gravity Inversion Table Overview

Inversion therapy counteracts the forces of gravity on the body (particularly the back) by decompressing and elongating the spine. Not only can this relieve pressure on your spinal cord's ligaments and nerve roots, but it can also relax the back muscles that support the vertebrae. And when your back relaxes, the rest of your body invariably follows. The Body Champ Deluxe Gravity Inversion Therapy Table can make a great addition to your daily routine, and help to improve your circulation and posture while relieving muscle aches, back pain, and stress.

Easy to adjust with its pull-pin adjustment system, the Deluxe Gravity Inversion Table from Body Champ is suitable for users 4' 9" to 6' 8" tall. It's also a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the pad and lock your feet behind the ankle supports, you simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body will gradually invert until you're almost completely upside down. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself. Construction features include an extra strong two-inch diameter main frame with both handrails and handlebars for stability and safety and an ankle adjustment mechanism with four comfortable foam rollers.

As your arms go up, your body will gradually invert until you're almost completely upside down.

FitForm Inversion Therapy Table by Teeter

FitForm Inversion Therapy Table by Teeter Review

I have suffered from low back pain for 25 years and have an ongoing relationship with the latest chiropractor in my area. Chiropractic helps a lot but I usually don't go often enough and for years I have had a hard time standing up straight because of my low back stiffness. I am totally convinced that these type of tables really work. I use mine about every day and I feel better immediately and I am walking much more upright on a regular basis these days. I chose the fitform over the ironman gravity because the reviews talked about ankle comfort and I felt that the extra would be money well spent. The table does its best to ensure ankle comfort with a nicely padded ankle cup and good rollers but I weight 250 lbs. and my ankles still get very sore. I would probably use it even more often if it didn't hurt to use it. But I still love this table and it is easy to use and I will probably use it for many years. On the plus side it seems to be made very well except that the back table you lay on is not padded- it is just some nylon fabric stretched taughtly across the frame and it is a bit uncomfortable. Once you are hanging upside down completely you don't even touch the table anymore and it might even be just fine for a shorter person anyway (I am 6'3"). All in all it is a great experience and I think it has aided in my overall health too.

FitForm Inversion Therapy Table by Teeter Feature

  • Made of durable heat-treated steel with injection-molded parts
  • Adjustable roller hinges and cam locks; curved front ankle clamps

FitForm Inversion Therapy Table by Teeter Overview

Made with quality by Teeter Hang Ups. You don't have to stretch your budget to stretch your back! The efficient and economical design of the FitForm Inversion Table offers functional performance and quality. As there are no mandated manufacturing standards, the FitForm proves its claim of user security with a UL Classification to 60601-1 at a 250 lbs user weight capacity.

FitForm Inversion Therapy Table by Teeter Specifications

Inversion therapy offers an easy, effective way to stretch out, reduce stress, and ease your back pain. Now FitForm makes the treatment accessible to more people than ever with this affordable inversion therapy table. Inversion therapy works by placing your body in line with the downward force of gravity. In the process, inversion elongates the spine, increases the space between the vertebrae, and relieves the pressure on discs, ligaments, and nerve roots. And less pressure means less back pain, as well as fewer headaches and neck problems.

The FitForm table is made of durable heat-treated steel, with injection-molded parts that provide a smooth, finished quality. The adjustable roller hinges and cam locks, meanwhile, provide a custom rotation for beginners, regular inverters, and experts. Add an adjustable tether that lets you invert to any angle and specialized pivot bearings that provide a lifetime of squeak-free rotation and you have everything you need to keep your back pain-free.

Other details include curved front ankle clamps that mold to the curve of your feet for added comfort and security; a removable nylon mat that cleans easily; and a frame that folds up compactly for easy storage. Best of all, the inversion table is remarkably easy to set up and use. It comes 85 percent pre-assembled, with the rest coming together in just 10 minutes or less. And to get you started, FitForm threw in an instructional DVD that guides you through your first moments of inversion, including how to set the table to meet your specific needs and how to perform certain stretching and strengthening exercises.

The FitForm inversion table accommodates people who stand between 4 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 6 inches and weigh up to 250 pounds. And at 45 by 58 by 28 inches (W x H x D), it takes up a minimum of space. Finally, the table carries a two-year warranty.

Soozier Elite Gravity Fitness Therapy Exercise Inversion Table

Soozier Elite Gravity Fitness Therapy Exercise Inversion Table Review

My husband decided after looking at dozens of inversion tables that this would be the best one. I was a little skeptical because at the time there were only 2 other reviews on this particular table and I didn't think he had researched enough. When we received it it took him a few hours to put it together and like the other reviewer said, everything fit perfectly.I found it really easy to climb on. My friend has an inversion table (not sure what brand) and hers is so awkward to get on. I really love it, and have noticed improvement already! If you are having back problems, circulation issues and even stress, this is the table for you. I always come off the table very relaxed.

Stamina Pilates Magic Circle with Workout DVD

Stamina Pilates Magic Circle with Workout DVD Review

I've ordered and tried so many different types of exercise aids, and this is one that works! I saw a difference within 3 weeks of 3 x per week use (generally, sometimes only 2 x per week). And within 3 months my body was fully toned. This particular Magic Circle is very well made and the exercise routine is fast paced, giving a full body workout in 25 minutes. That's something you can fit into a busy schedule. Some of the exercises I had to build up to doing, others were not as difficult. While the leader demonstrates a few exercises on a Pilates machine I just do the exercises on the floor. And I also do exercises during the introduction while the leader is speaking, some I made up myself to target certain spots. This is easy to use and you get results! Definitely worth the money and the effort to use it. You'll be amazed!

Stamina Pilates Magic Circle with Workout DVD Feature

  • Pilates Magic Circle measure 14.75-inches in diameter
  • Soft rubber ring fits comfortably against your body
  • Made of professional grade, non-porous molded padding

Back Pain Diminished With Inversion Therapy

Back pain is as old as the Greeks, 400 BC, likely older, and the Greeks had a good idea as to how to make the back be better.
Hippocrates, the father of medicine, hoisted a patient upside down on a ladder with knees and ankles bound securely and created the first spinal traction.

Today the same idea works for diminishing lower back pain and sometimes upper back pain as well, but it's much easier to do. It's called inversion therapy.

There are even inversion tables where you can safely secure your ankles, while you lose your back pain in much more safety and comfort than with Hippocrates.

Simply inverting as little as 25 degrees allows for decompressing the spinal pressure that has been causing your back to hurt so bad. When does spinal pressure occur? When doesn't it?

Certainly, when standing, riding in a vehicle, sitting at a computer keyboard and especially picking up the adorable children or grandchildren.

Inversion therapy to reduce lower back pain also accomplishes other great things for the body:

helps the care of your spinal discs, the body's shock absorbers
relieves muscle tension and stress by elongating the spine
takes pressure off the ligaments and nerve roots
enhances the flow of lymphatic fluid
generally relaxes body and mind as the spine decompresses from all the daily stress and strain our lives put on our backs.

You don't have to go to a doc or physical therapist for inversion therapy, although some offer it. Inversion tables are for sale in many back stores throughout the U.S. and some other countries.

Once you try inversion therapy, you'll know quickly if it works for you, as it does for most people. You may want an inversion table for your home and should use it, usually twice a day during periods of back pain indicating serious muscle stress. Perhaps, less often as back pain subsides, but you should still decompress your spine regularly.

Inversion therapy has been working since Hippocrates and the Greeks' beginning of medicine, and it will work for you today in your own home.
